Giant Polyps in the Mall?

It’s not something you see every day while shopping. Giant polyps at the mall. But that’s exactly what shoppers saw this past March in Cape Girardeau as they shopped at the West Park Mall. The 8 foot high polyp art was part of an effort to bring awareness for colon cancer month and the importance of getting annual screenings. The event created by BVK for Southeast Missouri Hospital, used local artists to develop the giant polyps that were accompanied by signs saying, “Stop colon cancer before it becomes a big problem.” The event was part of a month-long campaign that led to a 49% surge in colon cancer screenings.
