MARS, an alliance of 21 Milwaukee area radio stations, asked BVK to get local advertisers excited about using radio to advertise their businesses. Instead, of simply telling advertisers about the effectiveness of radio as a medium, BVK decided to show its power by creating a series of hilarious radio ads for fake advertisers Lawyer-MARS ranging from the “lawyers who break legs” to the amazing “gravy diet.” Each had its own website, that revealed, although the specific company wasn’t real, the power of radio is, and that you have just experienced the power of radio. The campaign helped over 100,000 people experience the power of radio in Milwaukee and increased radio sales by 17%.
