For Michigan State University, a new client in 2013, BVK was retained by the Advancement Office to create the platform, theme and materials for their 5-year, $1.5 billion capital campaign, including the development and production of the main and mini case statements. To begin the process, BVK conducted focus groups with 26 of MSU’s top two percent donors in the President’s Cabinet. Out of that research we developed the “Empower Extraordinary” campaign, as well as the print, out-of-home and videos (17 of them!) that supported the overall all campaign and each of the four campaign pillars highlighted in the case statement. While this campaign only launched in October of 2014, MSU Advancement is already 61% of the way to their goal after only seven months.

On June 3, the Council for Advancement and Support of Education recognized MSU’s Empower Extraordinary Case Statement Package for its superb design, well-edited copy and impressive set of materials for development officers.

A panel of experts selected the MSUs entry in the Fundraising Packages category. The MSU package that was written and designed by BVK included the Empower Extraordinary Case Statement, the complete set of College and Unit Case Statements, the mini case statement, and the Empower Extraordinary folder.

This year, 629 higher education institutions, independent schools and nonprofits from around the world submitted more than 3,000 entries in 100 categories for consideration in the Circle of Excellence awards program.

Judges gave 285 bronze, silver and gold awards. MSU was one of only 14 institutions that received the top prize of a grand gold award.
