JOB DESCRIPTION
Brand strategist who has the ability to quickly see the bigger picture and cut through to what will make the biggest difference for a client’s business. Uncovers fresh and innovative insights, business opportunities, brand direction and creative ideas. Provides account planning, brand strategy, research expertise to the agency’s clients. Adept at data and insight mining to uncover breakthrough, relevant brand strategies and activation. Partners with creative, media, research, and account management peers to develop effective ideas at all points of customer journey. Delivers a clear, concise point of view, supported by data, for how to solve business challenges. Powerful brand storyteller that can engage and inspire teams. Actively supports new business activity where required.
POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for building and deepening a holistic view of clients’ business and target audiences through primary research, secondary research, data analysis and applying those insights via strategic brand and account planning strategies
- Communicate knowledge of research techniques, methodologies, and approaches that inform, support and result in insightful, effective brand strategy
- Develop and maintain client-valued relationships as a brand strategist
- Transform and deliver data and research into meaningful insights, stories and brand strategies
- Craft in-depth audience profiles for key segments
- Craft meaningful, relevant and durable brand strategies and positioning platforms that drive competitive advantage
- Develop streamlined brand architectures and naming strategies
- Author inspiring creative briefs that and rooted in inspiring action and translate insights into creative direction and work closely with creatives to develop “the big idea,” bridging client needs with consumer insights
- Foster quality and deliverable consistency over time and across projects
- Collaborate with creative, media and account leaders to devise strategies that inspire and change consumer behavior
- Collaborate with media teams to guide media targeting and budget allocations and research/analytics-based plans to measure media and brand impact
- Persuasive and engaging presenter and brand storyteller that can inspire teams internally and externally
- Build KPIs to measure campaign performance; customer behavior / brand impact, and ROI
- Proactively identify new research and strategic planning opportunities and unique approaches for clients and the agency as a whole
- Evaluate new and current vendors and new approaches to ensure our research is cutting edge

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree in fields such as advertising, marketing, brand management, sociology, psychology, business, or similar
- 8+ years in marketing, communication, brand or advertising research, and/or brand strategy
- Robust experience with design, management & analysis of complex primary research studies
- Strong media understanding and familiarity with audience measurement techniques
- Superior oral and written communication skills
- Management and mentoring experience to develop the overall client team and research practice
- Proficient in using MS Office Suite
