Red Carpet-Worthy Web Design

The Challenge

The fast-growing Milwaukee Film organization was quickly outgrowing its vintage digital destination. A new website was required to satisfy the needs of the popular nonprofit's three key goals and priorities: ecommerce-based ticketing, simplified rich media content management and immediate conversion to responsive design.

  • The Solution

The BVK team stepped into character and wrote the script for a highly customized site to showcase immersive film stills and trailers as the star of the show. This was accomplished without compromising the critical ecommerce integration or ease of content upload and management required by the already busy Milwaukee Film staff.

A redesigned navigation simplified the user experience to more prominently feature the depth of rich content, despite complicated relationships between content types and searchability. Site performance improvements were put in place behind the scenes, enabling faster site loading times during peak traffic hours, a critical attribute of a site specifically designed to optimize viewer consumption of hundreds of film trailers and content assets during a concentrated period of time.

The site’s fully responsive design enabled passionate and on-the-go filmmakers and enthusiasts to browse, plan and ultimately purchase tickets for their personally customized festival experience.
