To help increase tourism to Belize, BVK partnered with the A&E Network’s Gene Simmons Family Jewels to bring the reality show’s final episode to the stunning Caribbean destination of Belize. The wildly talked about season finale featured one of the most-anticipated celebrity proposals of the year, as rock star Gene Simmons asked Shannon Tweed to marry him in front of 3 million viewers. To maximize exposure for Belize and build a database of prospective leads for the destination, BVK created an online sweepstakes and got the show’s stars to Tweet about the giveaway. Within 24 hours of the launch, the promotion generated more than 5,000 new followers for the destination’s social channels, and Belize saw an immediate 5% increase in share of voice amongst competitors, while the search term “Belize” shot to #1 on Google Trends the day after the finale.
