How do you initiate a conversation between parents and teens about sex? Open their eyes to some of the sex myths teens hear when their parents aren’t talking to them.
Enter the Sex Myths campaign. The heavily digital and social media-based campaign, features an interactive YouTube quiz and website, GetTheSexFacts.com, as well as social media promotion on Facebook and Twitter. Users were encouraged to share the videos with their friends and parents. In the first two months, the disturbing myth videos generated over 200,000 views.
The campaign is part of Serve’s long-running, awareness effort aimed at changing teen’s perceptions about teen pregnancy in Milwaukee. And have contributed to the city’s historic 56% drop in the teen birth rate.
