To reinforce the fact that for some girls, 13 is truly an unlucky number, BVK volunteers painted 13’s around the city, along with the url, unluckythirteen.org. A week later an outdoor and social media campaign revealed that 13 was the average age that a girl was put into sex trafficking in Milwaukee. The effort generated over 6 million media impressions about this important issue.
