Not only did the effort generate widespread attention to the importance of taking the annual test, but Avera saw a 19% increase in prostate screening the following month.
In this spot for Avera Health, BVK takes a humorous approach to demonstrating how stubborn men are at recognizing chest pains as one of the most important warning signs of a heart attack.
A lot of health systems talk about the value of being connected. Few have found a compelling way to demonstrate that connection visually. For Avera Health, BVK produced an epic :60 spot showing that the health system’s physicians, medical specialties and locations all work together  seamlessly to ensure their patients get the best care. No matter where they are located.
To create awareness for the importance of getting an annual prostate exam, BVK took to the one place where they knew they would have men’s undivided attention. The bathroom. Partnering with public officials and local businesses, BVK launched a guerilla awareness campaign in more than a dozen public restrooms in Sioux Falls. The off-beat campaign helped generate a 20% increase prostate screening.

For two days, people honked, stopped and craned their necks to get a better look at the board everyone was talking about in Sioux Falls, SD. The country’s first smoking billboard. The board was a part of an outdoor campaign launched by BVK, to create awareness for Avera Health System’s ER services. Local TV, radio and newspapers all fueled the buzz for the campaign and helped to drive over 100,000 people to WhyImAlive.com, which revealed some of the amazing life and death stories of people saved by Avera’s ER department.
